5 Rituals to Celebrate Spring
There is something beautiful and refreshing about Spring.
The air is still crisp, but slowly the layers begin to peel away. Tender leaves appear on branches that have been bare for a while and flowers start to bloom. There is a sense of renewal–a gentle reminder that after a period of sheltering and hibernation, that life keeps changing and moving forward.
To celebrate spring, here are a few rituals to inspire you to embrace the new season.
Bring flowers indoors
As the days begin to warm, the garden comes alive. Head out with a basket in hand and take clippings of fresh florals to bring inside. Lavender, sunflowers, salvia, chrysanthemums… display them in a vase. They will fill the home with a beautiful scent.
Enjoy an uplifting tea blend
While in winter we feel like consuming teas that warm our souls, in spring it’s nice to drink blends that invigorate and refresh us. Floral teas that are light and delicate are beautiful at this time of year, or a white tea that is clean and crisp. Brew a pot and enjoy it in the sunshine while reading a good book.
Shop at your local market
With the new season comes fresh new produce. Visit your local market and fill a basket with seasonal fruits and vegetables. Beans, asparagus, radish, leafy greens and strawberries… they are at their best and it’s a wonderful time to enjoy them.
Take meals outdoors
With the sunshine lasting a little longer, gather outdoors around a table or on a picnic rug to enjoy a meal with friends and family. Bake a quiche filled with spring greens and enjoy it with a leafy salad. Pack a baguette and enjoy it with thinly sliced radishes, salted butter and fresh herbs. Or bake a strawberry tart and enjoy it with an espresso.
Set new intentions
The start of a new season is a good time to sit down and think about things we would like to accomplish during the coming months. Create space on your weekend to sit with a notebook and a cup of tea and write down a few things that you would like to work towards or bring more of into your life this spring season.
