Lazing on the Amalfi Coast

As mentioned the other part of my recent trip was to the Amalfi Coast. This part of the world is pretty amazing. Huge cliffs with houses crawling up them overlook the blue Mediterranean Sea and it’s beautiful. It’s a crazy drive to get there but once there you will be glad you made the effort.

There are flowers, lemon and orange trees lining the coast. Fruit carts sit on the side of the roads selling fresh produce, although to stop would take some courage considering how crazy the roads are.

Good food was hard to find which surprised me. We stayed in Positano which is a very touristy part of the coast (understandably) so lane ways were filled with stores selling touristy things. You really have to look and do a bit of research to find a nice restaurant. But we did have a few good meals and overindulged on gelato, pasta, pizza and Italian cakes.

Our hotel was nice enough that we didn’t need to leave. We had our own balcony surrounded in flowers with a Jacuzzi and deck chairs, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the lights of Positano. It’s a great place to go to relax and unwind.

For those who would like to see a few more photos you can check them out over at Sourced Cities.

Have a great day everyone :)

Thanks Alice. The coast is really beautiful. If I were rich I’d buy a house on there somewhere and escape to it every now and then. A girl can dream can’t she :)

Really stunning shots! :) The Amalfi Coast is a natural amphitheater of rocks, scents and sensations, an oasis of peace flowing with a very intense social life. On the Amalfi Coast, the delights of a land that smells of sea, lemons, woods and mountains, go along with a long history, that of peoples and nations who have left the sign of their passage. A place to visit almost once in a lifetime!:) If you want to find out some curiosities and stories about this marvelous place take a look at http://www.thatsamalfi.com! I hope you’ll enjoy it! :)
