Vitamin boosters

These holidays both Reid and I have been sick. Personally I’m finding it hard to adjust to the cold weather. Coming from a city where the coolest it gets is about 5˚C in the middle of winter to a city that has reached -17˚C (so far!) is taking a wee bit of adjusting. I know I need to toughen up (and dress correctly) but I also thought a boost of vitamins couldn’t hurt. And with the Christmas and New Year party sessions maybe a few of us could do with a few extra vitamins. So here are a few juice recipes to help get the body back on track. All you need is a juice machine and a selection of fresh fruit & veges. Or a good local juice bar with a healthy selection. Do any of you have any tips for getting your body back on track?
Also, thanks for the updates on things that aren’t quite functioning on the blog yet. I’m in the process of trying to get them right.
These look so yummy! I’m sure Reid will be better in no time!
As for health tips, you might not want to put this into a juice, but garlic is supposed to ward off bad stuff, so maybe add a couple of extra cloves to your next dinner :)
Thanks Kat. Yes I have been loading our meals up with garlic and ginger as well. Just cooked up a big pot of chicken and vegetable soup with a heap of garlic, ginger, parsley and carrot so hopefully that helps!
Totally my kind of recipes for the beginning of the winter! So, what’s up with your first snow storm?;)
It was quite a storm wasn’t it! I’ve never seen anything like it. I had so much fun walking around in it :)
Love these booster ideas! I’m a newbie to Ginger, so I’m wondering how you use ginger? Does it need to be peeled first? Or do you just wash it and use as is?
Yum, I recently purchased a juicer and have been loving my fresh homemade juices. I also love adding ginger but it took a few tries to get the quantity right – the first one almost blew my head off haha. How amazing is the colour of freshly squeezed juice – it definitely makes you wonder what they put (or don’t put!) in store brought juice!
